Kitchen Installation FAQ’s

How much does a fitted kitchen cost?

The cost of installing a fitted kitchen typically ranges between £5,000 and £15,000, depending on the scope of work and the materials used.

How long does it take to fit a kitchen?

On average, it takes about 10-14 days to install a kitchen.

Will you need a deposit before you fit the kitchen?

Yes, we require a 30% deposit to secure your booking.

Will our kitchen be out of action while you fit the new one?

Yes, most likely. We recommend using a microwave and ready meals or eating out until the new kitchen is functional. We strive to keep the kitchen sink and oven operational as much as possible, but this depends on the specifics of the job.

Will my new fitted kitchen add value to my house?

Absolutely. A new kitchen often enhances the value of your home, as it is frequently the centrepiece of the property. Property valuations generally consider the state of the kitchen.

Do you supply and fit units for rooms other than the kitchen?

Yes, as part of our bespoke carpentry service, we can fit units for various purposes, such as TV cabinets, wine racks, utility rooms, office spaces with smart storage, bars, and garden rooms.

Which kitchen worktop is the hardest wearing?

Quartz and granite worktops are renowned for their durability. A newer option, compact laminate, is also highly durable and resin-based. While cheap laminate worktops offer reasonable wear resistance, they are more prone to damage. Oak and walnut worktops are popular but can be dented and require polishing every few years. Your budget and design preferences will ultimately determine your choice.

How long do I have to wait for you to begin work?

The wait time depends on our current workload and the complexity of the project. As an established company with an experienced team, we generally start jobs quicker than smaller firms.

How detailed are the plans we agree on?

The kitchen supplier provides a floor plan and usually 3D images to help you visualise the design. We work from these plans and have extensive experience in implementing them accurately.

Can my kitchen cabinets be painted?

It depends on the material. This is not a service we provide.

Is it worth adding lighting to a new kitchen?

Yes. Under-counter LED lights are popular, as are kickboard lighting, recessed lighting, and feature lighting. We can install these as part of your new kitchen.

Do you supply and install flooring?

Yes. As a comprehensive trades company, we can install various types of flooring, including engineered wood, laminate, tile, Karndean, and vinyl floors.

How do you ensure the whole kitchen refit goes smoothly?

With years of experience and thousands of kitchens installed, we know how to minimise disruptions. You will also have a dedicated project manager to address any concerns.

How can I prepare for a kitchen installation?

Here is a checklist to prepare for your kitchen installation:

  • Unplug and remove any countertop appliances.
  • Empty cupboards and drawers of foodstuffs and utensils.
  • Create a temporary kitchenette in another room.
  • Remove any obstructions to and from the kitchen.
  • Ensure you have space to store the worktops and cabinets during the installation, preferably outside the kitchen unless it is very large.

Do you do open plan kitchens?

Yes, we can knock down walls and install steel supports to create open-plan living spaces. We have specialists for different aspects of the kitchen, making us a one-stop solution with local experts in our team.
